Wyatt's Sprinkle

On April 8th, Easter Sunday, we had Wyatt's Baptism at St. Philip's Cathedral. St. Philip's is the Church where Steve and I were married. Beth Knowlton, our Wedding officiant, also baptized Wyatt.
Wyatt was great during the baptism especially considering the service was 2 hours long!

After the Church activities, everyone joined us at our house for Easter lunch and an Easter Egg hunt. Unexpectedly, Ethan was able to join us too.

Wyatt's First Easter

We had a blast celebrating Wyatt's first Easter. Just the year before we had the opportunity to share our big news with our families. Now, the little butterbean is with us--making us laugh everyday.

Neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt

This year we attended our first Underwood Hills Easter Egg Hunt. It was much more exciting for Mom and Dad than for Wyatt. Next year, Wyatt will at least be able to toddle around the park.

A photographer in the neighborhood was on hand to snap some quick Easter photos

Silly Play!

Over the past month, Wyatt's personality has just blossomed! Although he was always sweet and happy, now he giggles and interacts with us. As a consequence, he's easily distracted when it is 3 AM and time to eat. He just wants to play!

Just hours after his outpatient surgery, Wyatt was ready to have some fun!

Two of his favorite objects of observation are his furry brothers. He is curiously interested in them and they like to lick him.

March already?

I'm only 3 months into parenthood and I'm already woefully behind in my blogging. Wyatt will be walking/running before I post pictures of him smiling.

I think what has happened is that Steve and I have finally come up for air. Although we have tried very hard to maintain a normal life it was inevitable that we would exhibit the typical "oh poop" behaviors that many new parents experience: we pace with the baby; we have become shut-ins; sleep deprivation is the norm; Wyatt would rather play than sleep at 4 AM.....

Slowly but surely our "new" life has become more normal. As Wyatt has grown, my day is becoming more predictable and we have more of a routine. Although we are not as stunned as we were in December, Wyatt has rocked our world in an incredible way and we love every little inch of him.

Below are a few pictures from Christmas (nearly 3 months ago!!):

On December 2, 2011 at 10:08 PM, Steve and I welcomed our darling son, Wyatt Randolph Hatch! Wyatt weighed in at 8 lbs. 5 oz. and was 21 inches long. Steve and I love getting to know Wyatt. So far, we know he loves to eat and is very good at it. When we left the hospital on Monday (12/5), Wyatt was 7 lbs. 11 oz. At his first Pediatrician visit on 12/7, Wyatt's weight was already up to 8 lbs. 2 oz.! By his second appointment on 12/12, our quickly growing boy was up to 8 lbs. 11 oz.! Although the feedings can be exhausting, we are very proud of him. Below are a few pictures documenting his birth.

Showered with Love

On October 22nd my dear friends threw a Brunch shower for me and the Butterbean. I had such a wonderful time celebrating the Bean's upcoming arrival with all of my friends. The food and decor were amazing. The theme was "About to Hatch," with beautiful bird's nest and birds. I love all of the special details. Here are a few pictures from the day.

To top off the festivities, my family in Dalton threw an additional shower on November 6th. At the shower, we enjoyed a ton of Lebanese culinary specialties, cupcakes and baklava. A party with my family always involves a boisterous, often loud, crowd. It is never a dull moment...
