Thumbs Up!

Today we had our 20 week ultrasound. We thoroughly enjoyed the visit as we got to see the baby's spine, skull and heart. To our surprise, the Butterbean gave us a huge thumbs up! As many may know, a big thumbs up is a trademark "Steve Hatch" move.
Above is the ultrasound pictures of the Butterbean's profile, the top of the head and the baby's feet and toes. I believe the baby has the long Hatch toes (very similar to fingers). Based on the baby's feet and the pictures of the arms and legs, I'm definitely convinced we are having a little boy! Who knows??

Above, we have pictures of the baby's legs, arms and heartbeat. It may be hard to see, but the Butterbean's legs and arms are so long! The baby is also registering at 11 oz.

Today, Butterbean's heart rate was 148 beats/minute. Generally, the heart rate is around 165.  The picture shows the little flutter of the baby's heart.
For all of you who are out of town, the picture above is of my bump at 19 wks.

Baby's First Half-Marathon

All the talk about the 2012 Peachtree Roadrace has me thinking about my last run. On March 20th , my running partner, Cara, and I ran the Georgia half-marathon with approximately 6,000 other participants. It was a great run. The weather was awesome and the crowds were lively. Little did I know that there was a little butterbean on board!!
